Weather, currents, draft, windage, trim and loading conditions can each drive fuel consumption up or down significantly. Without accurately modelling all of them together, operators cannot understand hull fouling, evaluate energy saving technologies, or make confident decisions about routing and fleet performance. Most performance tools don't separate these effects. We do.
AlbatrosDigital builds physics-based models that simulate how any vessel behaves in any weather and operational condition. Without a single data point from the vessel, our models support design studies and retrofit analysis. Feed in operational data and the model validates actual performance, separating fouling, degradation and environmental effects. Connect it to a routing tool and it optimises every voyage in real time.

AlbatrosDigital is a Rotterdam-based maritime technology company founded by engineers from TU Delft. Our vessel performance models are built on naval architecture principles, 1,500 CFD simulations and 17 peer-reviewed research papers in ship hydrodynamics. ShipYard, our Ship Design Model Generator, is fully operational at TRL 8 and commercially deployed. The Vessel Intelligence Model is in active proof of concept with data from vessels operated by leading European shipping companies. AlbatrosDigital is an ESA partner under Project WING IT, a feasibility study into independent verification of wind propulsion savings using digital ship modelling and Earth Observation data.
